he
French: il / elle
Azali na mosala.
He is at work.
Il est au travail.
He, she — one letter, and a person is already acting. In Lingala the subject lives inside the verb: the prefix a- carries "he" or "she", so azali means "he is" and akei "she has gone." Small as it is, it is where most sentences about people begin.
