Lingala is built to stay out of your business. Here is exactly what that means.

What stays on your device

Your streak, your settings (language, card colour, download format), and the record of which cards you have viewed live in your browser’s storage (IndexedDB) on this device only. They are never uploaded, never synced to a server, and never tied to an account — there is no account. Clearing your browser data, or using “Clear all data” in Settings, removes them completely.

The one thing you can choose to send

If you use the “Suggest a phrase” form, it simply opens your own email app with the phrase pre-filled and addressed to us — nothing is sent until you send that email yourself, and it passes through no third party. Don’t put anything in there you wouldn’t want us to read.

The cards and images

Daily cards and the images you download are generated entirely in your browser. Downloading or sharing a card does not tell us anything.

Analytics

We may use standard, privacy-respecting web analytics to understand how many people use Lingala and which features matter, so we can make it better. This is about aggregate usage of the site, never the contents of your personal data above. We do not sell your data to anyone.
