Nzinzi-ya-lolemo — literally "fly of the tongue / sleeping." The tsetse fly, vector of trypanosomiasis (sleeping sickness), one of the most feared diseases in rural DRC. Control campaigns have dramatically reduced cases, but nzinzi-ya-lolemo remains a feared name in the forest regions.
